Music Math: Paper Route

Music Math: Paper Route

Think about it for a second, and we bet you'll agree that math - er, numbers n' stuff - plays a pivotal role in the creation of good music. (Ex: The Maine's "Count 'Em One, Two, Three," Panic at the Disco's "Nine in the Afternoon," etc.) That's why we're introducing a new weekly feature, Music Math, to point the way to the most intriguing new artists we - and you - can find. The idea is to use math equations to explain the band's sound and/or identity. (It's simple: just imagine what calculus class would be like if it was taught by Jack Black in School of Rock.)

The answer to this week's math challenge is Paper Route. All you have to do is write the equation that adds up to them. We asked the band to try it themsleves.

Here's their response:

Radiohead x Jimmy Eat World / Tim Burton (My Bloody Valentine + Cocteau Twins) +Nashville, TN^2 = Paper Route
